Short Description
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto you, and will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.jpg)
“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto you, and will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” [Deuteronomy 18:18]
This text indicates that this Prophet would not be from among the descendants of Israel in so much as from among their brothers, the descendants of Ishmael [peace be upon him]. This is why the Jewish rabbis and the Christian bishops knew very well that this Prophet would come from the descendants of Ishmael [peace be upon him] (i.e. the Arabs). For this reason, the inhabitants of Madînah embraced Islam even before the Prophet [peace be upon him] emigrated to it because they heard so much about him from the rabbis and bishops.[1]
