Short Description
No doubt, the Copts, under Sharî‘ah rule, will be happier and safer just as they were in the past when Sharî‘ah rule was in force.
Anba Shenouda
The late Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the Preaching of St. Mark, of Egypt says: “No doubt, the Copts, under Sharî‘ah rule, will be happier and safer just as they were in the past when Sharî‘ah rule was in force. We aspire to live under the rule, “They (non-Muslims) have (of rights) what we have and bear (of duties) what we bear.” Egypt imports laws from abroad and enforces them upon us even until now. We do not have the laws of Islam. How could we accept the imported laws rather than the Islamic laws?”[1]
