Rev. Barsoum Shehâta

The answer given by Rev. Barsoum Shehâta, representative of the Anglican Sect in Egypt, goes as follows: “At all Islamic ages and reigns where the Muslims abided by the true principles of the Islamic religion, they granted their subjects, be they Muslims or non-Muslims, on equal footing all means of freedom, security and peace.

The more religious laws are truly established within souls, far from the stains of hateful fundamentalism and pretentiousness which are obtrusive to the religion, the more the sun of religious freedom shines and Muslims and Christians meet together in constructive work and creative unity.”
