The Cairo Fire:
One of the painful historical events that hit Egypt in January 1952 AD was the Cairo Fire whose perpetrators have not been discovered until this very day. Those saboteurs took advantage of the demonstrations that swept the Egyptian capital as of 12 pm, and in a few hours the fire gutted about 700 shops, cinemas, casinos, hotels, offices and clubs in the streets and squares of downtown Cairo.
The incidents on that agonizing day resulted in the death of 26 people and the injury of 552 people with burns and bone fractures. At the same time, the military commanders were invited to a lavish banquet at the royal palace to celebrate the birth of Prince Ahmad Fu’aad.
