Periods of deterioration and disorder:
Just as Egypt under the Islamic rule witnessed periods of strength and prosperity over the ages, it also witnessed periods of degradation and decline. It witnessed periods of internal unrest, famines and epidemics, military and economic blockades, and disputes over power. All this led to the dissipation of Egypt’s strength and power. It also incurred the misery of its people and the loss of its cultural status among other nations and peoples.
At many times, Egypt became a dependent country after being a leader. It had been weakened after long years of power and it became poor after many years of affluence and capacity. In the following lines, we will mention these periods of weakness in Egyptian history in an attempt to disclose the reasons behind this weakness, study them, and, hopefully, avoid falling into the abyss of similar defects and problems.
