Short Description
Talhah asked Mûsaylamah: “Are you Mûsaylamah?” What was the answer of Mûsaylamah and the response of Talhah?.jpg)
It is narrated on the authority of ‘Umayr ibn Talhah from his father that he went to Yamâmah and asked about Mûsaylamah and it was said to him: “He is the Messenger of Allâh.” He said: “No, (I do not admit his Prophethood) until I see him.” When he came to him, he asked him: “Are you Mûsaylamah?” He answered in the affirmative.
He further asked: “Who does come to you (with the Divine revelation)?” He said: “ar-Rahmân.” He asked: “Does he come to you in light or in darkness?” He said: “No, in darkness.” He said: “I testify that you are a liar and that Muhammad is truthful. Nevertheless, the liar of Rabee‘ah (Mûsaylamah) is dearer to us than the truthful one of Mudhar (Muhammad).”[1]
