US Congress Library Founded

30^th of Thul Qa'dah Year 1214 AH/ April 24^th, 1800 AD: US' second president , John Adams (1735- 1726) orders the founding of a library of the American congress and providing it with books estimated at 5000 dollars. The library underwent two fires in its history, one at the hands of the British in 1814 and the other was in 1851. it is considered the biggest library in the world.

Lebanon Mountains Given Autonomy

30^th of Thul Qa'dah Year 1277 AH/ June 9^th, 1861 AD: The Ottoman state forms a self rule area in Lebanon Mountains which was based in central Deir el Qamar village and which area reached 3100 km. That quarter was a home for the Christians and it continued in a self rule status for 53 years until the year 1914.

Bourguiba Backs Partition Plan

30^th of Thul Qa'dah Year 1383 AH/ April 12^th , 1964 AD: Tunisian president al Habib Bourguiba calls for settlement of the Arab Israeli conflict on the basis of the partition plan. He announced this in his speech which he gave in Tunis after his return from a visit to Jordan.
