Belgrade Fort Seized

1st of Thul Qa'dah Year 1099 AH/ September 8th , 1688 AD: Fall of Belgrade Fort in the hands of the Germans who besieged the Ottoman nine within it for twenty nine days; they turned one hundred mosques into churches and slaying the Muslims in them.
 

Greece Independence Recognized

1st of Thul Qa'dah Year 1245 AH/ April 24th, 1830 AD: The Ottoman Emperor recognizes Greece as an independent state which was no longer under the rule of the Ottoman state. This was not until the major European states at the time pressured Istanbul to allow Greece to establish its own, independent kingdom with Athens being its capital.
   

The British Occupy Cairo

Nixon Assumes US Presidency

1st of Thul Qa'dah Year 1388 AH/ January 20th, 1969 AD: Richard Nixon assumes presidency in the USA, to be the thirty seventh president in the history of the US. He was elected for two successive terms, but he discontinued his term in office and tendered his resignation in 1974 after Watergate scandal .
 

Raga'ee and Gawad Killed

1st of Thul Qa'dah Year 1401 AH/ August 31st, 1981 AD: Iranian president Mohamed Ali Raga'ee and prime minister Mohammed Gawad Bahonar were killed in an astounding bombing which hit the cabinet premises in Teheran. It is noted that Mohamed Ali Raga'ee was the second president of the Islamic Republic of Iran who took up the post to replace al Hassan Bani Sadr the first Iranian president after the eruption of the of the Iranian revolution which dethroned the shah of Iran.
   

Venice Signs Treaty of Istanbul

2nd of Thul Qa'dah Year 883 AH/ January 25th , 1479 AD: Sultan Mohamed el Fateh forces Emirate of Venice to conclude the Treaty of Istanbul and abide by its conditions among which was that the emirate withdraw from the alliance fighting the Ottomans; the sultan also imposed war reparations on the emirate as well as an annual jizya.
 

Russians Besiege Azak

2nd of Thul Qa'dah Year 1107 AH/ June 3rd, 1696 AD: The Russian army, 100000 troops in number, besieges the Ottoman Fort of Azak which was adjacent to the Black Sea, for 63 days until the its garrison surrendered in Augusta and the Ottoman could not retake it until after fifteen years.
   

Nazis Burn Reichstag Palace

Yahya Khan Resigns

2nd of Thul Qa'dah Year 1391 AH/ December 20th, 1971 AD: Pakistani president Yahya Khan resigns from the presidency after his country sustained a crushing defeat in the war which lasted only for two weeks and led to the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan and taking hostage of 93000 Pakistani soldiers.
 

QIZ Agreement Signed

2nd of Thul Qa'dah Year 1425 AH/ December 14th , 2004 AD: Egypt and Israel hammer out an agreement named the Qualifying Industrial Zones Agreement( QIZ) in the Egyptian capital Cairo. The agreement provides for the establishing of three free zones in Egypt which products are exported to America after being exempted from Customs duties, a move which ignited controversy in Egypt.
   

Death of Al-Zahabi

3rd of Thul Qa'dah Year 748 AH/ February 4th, 1348 AD: death of notable Muslim historian Mohamed Ibn Ahmed Ibn Othman, alias al Zahabi, an authority at Islamic history who was born and educated in Damascus and traveled to seek knowledge and science. After he returned from his long journeys, he devoted himself to teaching and writing books. Foremost among his books are: History of Islam, Wafeyat el Mashaheer al A'laam( Who was Who) and Seyar A'laam el Nobala'a( Biographies of Muslim Icons)
 

Shkodra Surrenders to Ottomans

3rd of Thul Qa'dah Year 883 AH/ January 26th , 1479 AD: The town of Shkodra north of Albania, which was under the Venetian rule, surrenders to Ottoman Sultan Mohammed al Fateh who used never- heard –of weapons, rockets and huge artilleries. Shkodra was the last expedition staged by Sultan Mohammed who launched 25 such major sultanate expeditions.
   

Torghod Pasha Martyred

3rd of Thul Qa'dah Year 972 AH/ June 2nd , 1565 AD: Torghod Pasha is martyred at the age of eighty, who was the most notable Ottoman admiral at the battle which the Ottomans launched for conquering Malta Island. He was buried in the Libyan city of Tripoli . Torghod was born in 1485 AD, and enrolled the Ottoman marines where he rose to fame especially after his successful sea battles against the Spanish Christians in north Africa.
 

Treaty of Istanbul Signed

3rd of Thul Qa'dah Year 980 AH/ March 7th, 1573 AD: The Ottoman Empire concludes the Treaty of Istanbul with Venice. The treaty contained seven items, among which was that Venice pay financial damages to Turkey and that Cyprus Island maintain under the Ottoman empire rule.
   

The British Withdraw from Al-Mefrak

3rd of Thul Qa'dah Year 1376 AH/ May 31st, 1957 AD: The British forces withdraw from Al Mefrak, a Jordanian military base which, among other Jordanian military bases, remained under the British occupation even after Jordan gained its independence in 1946. The Jordanians didn't enjoy full independence until the British completed their withdrawal from these military bases .
 

Al-Mansoura Battle Erupts

4th of Thus Qa'dah Year 647 AH/ February 8th, 1250 AD: Al Mansoura Battle erupts between the Egyptians under the leadership of Peiparss Al Bandakdary and the Crusaders who occupied the Egyptian coastal town of Damietta and advanced toward al Mansoura. The Muslims achieved a great victory which expedited the defeat of the Crusaders and led to the surrender of their king Louis IX.
   

Germans Seize Tameshiwari

4th of Thus Qa'dah Year 1128 AH/ October 20th , 1761 AD: German Prince Ogeen seizes the Fort of Tameshiwari, a Hungarian city which was under the Ottoman authority. The Germans' occupation of this fort caused the severing of the Ottomans' ties with Hungary.
