Hassouna Named AL Secretary
24th of Zul Hejja, 1371 AH/ September 14th , 1952 AD: Nominating of Mohammed Abdul Khalek Hassouna as secretary general of the Arab League. He was the second man to assume this post after Abdul Rahman Azzam. Hassouna was an Egyptian politician who headed several ministries before he was nominated AL secretary general, including the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs.
Bintul-Nil Magazine Issued

The magazine continued issuance until it stopped in June 1957 after a military decree was issued by the regime of Gamal Abbdul Nasser at the time .
Ottoman Sultan Declares Jihad
24th of Zul Hejja, 1332 AH/ November 14th, 1914 AD: The Ottoman Sultan- in his capacity as the Caliph of Muslims- declares jihad against all states that waged wars on Turkey. The Ottoman state at the era of the Committee of Union and Progress unnecessarily joined forces with Germany and Austria and involved in a war against Britain, France and Russia.

Nagmuddin Ayyoub Crowned
25th of Zul Hejja, 637 AH/ July 17th, 1238 AD: Sultan al Saleh Nagmuddin Ayyoub becomes sultan of Egypt, the seventh in the Ayyoubi dynasty in Egypt. He managed to unify Egypt and the Levant, stand up to the Crusades and retake Bait el Makdes. He died during the Louise VII 's expedition on Egypt.
Birth of Cassius Clay
25th of Zul Hejja, Year 1360 AH/ January 12th, 1942 AD: Birth of Cassius Clay the world champion in heavy weight boxing. Cassius converted to Islam and named himself Mohammed Ali Clay. He rejected to be drafted into the American army in the Vietnam war, which made him an American national hero.
French-British Alliance Retake Levant

25th of Zul Hejja, 1326 AH/ January 18th, 1909 AD: Birth of notable Muslim scholar Abdul Salaam Haroun the doyen of the investigative researchers who compiled the first book in the area of investigative research targeting the Arabic and Islamic legacy. He did investigative researches for scores of volumes in the area of literature and linguistics, foremost among which are al Kitab (the book) by notable grammarian Seebaweih, al Hayawan( the animal) by Al Jahez, and Khazanatul Adab (Literature Bookcase ) by al Baghdadi.

25th of Zul Hejja,1114 AH/ January 18th, 1909 AD: The Russians occupy Neva River and lay the foundation ground for the city of Saint of Petersburg which was later on named Leningrader.
Death of Omar Ibnul-Khattab
26th of Zul Hejja, Year 23 AH/ November 3rd, 644 AD: Death of Emir of the Believers Omar Ibn el Khattab after Abu Looloa Al Magoosy stabbed him while he was leading the Muslims in a prayer. Omar assumed the caliphate after the death of Abu Bakr el Seddeek. His caliphate's period of time lasted for about ten years in which the Islamic state made great achievements. His era was full of many feats and civilization glories in administrative, military and political domains.
Death of Al-Hakam Ibn Hesham
26th of Zul Hejja, 206 AH/ May 22nd, 822 AD: Death of al Hakam Ibn Hesham the most well known emir of Andalusia. He was born in 154 AH/ 771 AD in Cordoba and assumed the rule when he was 26 years of age. Al Hakam established the first prestigious position for the Muslim state in Andalusia, a kingdom-like Islamic system of rule in which he introduced new ways and decrees that added to the strength of his emirate.
Hussein Named Azhar Imam
26th of Zul Hejja,1371 AH/ September 16th, 1952 AD : Sheikh Mohammed el Khedr Hussein becomes Grand Imam of Azhar Mosque, the thirty fifth in the chain of grand imams of Azhar. He was born in Tunis and was educated in al Zaytouna Mosque. He moved fro and to Istanbul and Damascus before he settled in Cairo and had the Egyptian nationality. After he settled in Cairo, he worked a teacher in al Azhar and as a contributor in the press too.

Dawaymeh Massacre Committed
26th of Zul Hejja, 1367 AH/ October 29th, 1948 AD: The Zionist gangs perpetrate a massacre against the people in al Dawaymeh Village in Palestine after the Friday prayers when the people were busy with their markets and jobs. The soldiers killed hundreds of old and young people and smashed the heads of children before their mothers before they killed the mothers themselves and raped many of the women villagers. One of the leaders of Almabam Zionist party( named Israel Galili) admitted that he saw "horrible sights in this massacre including killing of the captives and raping of women and other heinous acts"
Ibrahim Pasha Conquers Acre
26th of Zul Hejja, 1247 AH/ June 27th, 1832 AD: Ibrahim Pasha the son of Mohammed Ali manages to conquer Acre after six months of siege. The fall of Acre was an earth shaking event which reflected the military genius mentality of Ibrahim Pasha and his chief of staff Suleiman Pasha al Faransawi. It is noted that Napoleon Bonaparte earlier failed to invade the city.
Russians Defeated in Alma Battle
26th of Zul Hejja, 1270, AH/ September 20th, 1854 AD: The Russian army sustains a crushing defeat in the Battle of Alma at the hands of the joint French , British and Ottoman forces. In this battle, the Russians lost about seven thousand lives.
First Wireless Line Extnded
26th of Zul Hejja, 1271 AH/ September 9th, 1855 AD: The Ottoman state extends the first wireless line. In a period of fifteen years, the Ottoman state was able to extend over 95000 km of wireless lines.
Milner Committee Formed
26th of Zul Hejja, Year 1337 AH/ September 22nd, 1919 AD: The British government founds what it called the Milner committee to investigate the reasons for the eruption of the Egyptian 1919 revolution which was spearheaded by Saad Zaghlool. The committee submitted suggestions for introducing reforms in the country and bringing it under control so that such revolutions would not repeat once again.
Ottomans Defend Khania
26th of Zul Hejja,1104 AH/ August 28th, 1692 AD: The Ottomans in Crete Island manage to defend the Khania Fortress for forty one days, which forced the fleets of Venice, Malta and Florence to withdraw after they sustained a big loss of about 4000 lives.
Hamas Wins Election

This enabled it to form the Palestinian government which head Ahmed Qorai resigned after the result was made public and after Fateh accepted it.
