The Syrian Baath Party dismembers former vice president Abdul Halim Khaddam on charges of treachery after he publicly criticized President Bashshar el Assad of threatening former Lebanese prime minister Rafeek el Hariri who was assassinated in February 2005.
Birth of Al-Bairoony

Birth of Arab scholar Abu el Raihan Mohamed Ibn Ahmed Al Bairoony, an encyclopedic Arab scholar in the fields astronomy, arithmetic, geography and geology. He wrote over 120 books, foremost among which are Al Kanoon el Masoody( Masoody 's Law), Al Athar Al Bakeya(Relics of the Past) , and Saidana fi el Teb (Pharmacy in medicine).
Alliance Defeats Russians

The Ottoman- French- British allied army inflicts a crushing defeat to the Russian army in the battle of TerKater in which the Russians lost 7 thousand souls during the Crimean war between the Ottoman state and Russia.
Bablawi Named Azhar Imam
2nd of Thul Hejja Year 1320 AH/ March 2nd, 1903 AD
Sheikh Ali Ibn Mohammed Ibn Ahmed el Bablawi becomes grand sheikh of Azhar. Sheikh Beblawi received his early and university education at Azhar, after graduation he was named director of the Book House where he introduced reforms and regulations which gave a facelift to the institution. Then he was named Head of Ashraaf in succession of Mohammed Tawfeek el Badry. He didn’t last long as grand sheikh of Azhar since his reformist efforts in Azhar were met with vehement rejection on the part of khedive Abbas Helmy.
Death of Abdul-Rahman Manif

Death of Saudi writer and novelist Abdul Rahman Maneef at around 70 years of age in the Syrian capital Damascus. Foremost among his works are Quintet of Salt City, which was published in 1984, in which he dealt with the history of the Arab Peninsula. The Saudi authorities revoked the Saudi citizenship from Maneef for his opposing position to the regime, which the latter labeled as "hostile " to it.

Birth of Turkish leader İsmet İnönü. He was one of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk 's men who greatly helped Ataturk defeat the Greek and establish the republic of Turkey. He assumed presidency in 1938 after the death of Ataturk and his tenure lasted for 12 years.

Sistova Treaty Held
4th of Zul Hejja, Year 1205 AH/ August 4th, 1791 AD:
The Ottoman State hammers out the treaty of Sistova with Germany to end the war between them. The treaty comprised of 14 provisions and continued for three years. By virtue of this treaty , the Germans also withdrew from Belgrade after they occupied it for one year and ten months; so that it would be the last German Ottoman war in history.
