The rightly guided Caliphs, May Allah be Pleased with them, followed the steps of Messenger of Allah, SAWA. Among many things, they give special attention to the poor and catered for the needy, took interest in social solidarity among the entire society individuals and exerted their utmost in saving all those in distress or in need. It is no wonder that they did so, as they were nurtured by the Messenger PBUH and learned from his purely divine doctrines, in words and deeds.
 

Era of Omar Ibn Al Khattab

In his era, Omar set up bodies to regulate the lives of his subjects. He, May Allah be pleased with him, through which he was aware of those who were in need of aid, thus sending them supplies from the Muslims' House of Charity. He went as far as to nurture every individual in the Islamic state by allocating a specific share of funds to help all people lead a decent life, a never- known system in the history of mankind. Among other things, he set up a system in which all newborns were registered. At first Omar didn't provide newborns with such funds until they were weaned
   

Era of Othman Ibn Affan

Othman, May Allah be pleased with him, followed the steps of his rightly guided predecessor caliphs in terms of concern for the subject and solidarity with the poor and the needy. He raised the portion of charity which Omar allocated from the House of Charity, taking the individual portion of charity up to one hundred. He also raised the Ramadan portion of charity by one more dirham for each individual in society, and by two dirhams for the Mothers of the Believers.
