Birth of Abdullah Al-Tayyib Al-Majdhub

25th of Ramadan 1339 AH/ June 2nd 1921 AD: Birth of Dr. Abdullah Al-Tayyib Al-Majdhub, known as the dean of Sudanese literature. He was born in the Tamirab village, to the west of Al-Damir. He received his education in the education institution in Bakht Al-Rida, later in Faculty of Education, London University and in the Institution of Eastern and African Studies. He got the PHD from London University and worked in the Sudanese university teaching staff. He founded the Nigerian Bayero University College which was upgraded from university college to university.

 

Birth of Fakhrul-Din Al-Razi

25th of Ramadan 544 AH/ January 26th 1150 AD: Birth of the great Faqih (jurisprudent) and scholar of Usul Al-Fiqh (principles of Islamic jurisprudence) Muhammad bin 'Umar bin Al-Hussein bin Ali, known as Fakhrul-Din Al-Razi. He is the author of the celebrated exegesis of the Qur'an "Mafatih Al-Ghayb". He composed more than one hundred books.

   

Battle of Ain Jalut Breaks out

25th of Ramadan 685 AH/ September 3rd 1260 AD: The Battle of Ain Jalut breaks out between the Egyptian Mamelukes led by Al-Malik Al-Muzafar Saif Ad-Din Qutuz and the Mongols led by Kitbuqa in Palestine, in the Jezreel Valley. Muslims achieved a crushing victory which stopped the advance of the Mongols and saved the Islamic civilization from destruction.

 

The Prophet Returns from Tabuk

26th of Ramadan 9 AH/ January 5th 631 AD: The Prophet (peace be upon him) comes back after fighting the battle of Tabuk. Some Companions failed to participate in the battle. After coming back, the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered the mosque, offered prayer and listened to the excuses of absentees. Then happened the story of Ka'b bin Malik and two other Companions whom the Prophet ordered Muslims to boycott.

   

Birth of Badrul-Din Al-Ayni

26th of Ramadan 762 AH/ July 30th 1361 AD: Birth of Abu Al-Thana' Mahmud bin Ahmad bin Musa, alias Badrul-Din Al-Ayni, a prominent Faqih (jurisprudent), scholar of Hadith and historian of the eighth and ninth centuries AH. He composed many celebrated books, such as "'Aqdul-Jaman" and "'Umdatul-Qari: An Explanation of Sahih Al-Bukhari".

 

Death of Ibn Khaldun

His researches and studies are considered forerunning of several social scientific disciplines: demography, cultural history, historiography, the philosophy of history, and sociology.
