Decree on Egypt Issued

9th of Thul Hejja Year 1279 AH/ May 28th, 1863 AD: Khedive Ismael manages to have a law issued by the Ottoman state which was named Decree on Egypt. The decree approved of the dynasty system in which the son could succeed his father in the rule of Egypt. This decree paved the way for Mohammed Tawfeek Pasha the son of Ismael to assume power in Egypt.
