Death of the Saudi Novelist Abdul Rahman Munif

On 2nd of Dhul-Hijjah 1424 AH/ 24th of January 2004 AD was the death of Saudi novelist Abdul Rahman Munif in the age of 70 years in Damascus, the Syrian capital. The most renowned of his works is "Salt Cities Quintet, which was issued in 1984. It relates the history of the Arabian Peninsula. The Saudi authorities have been withheld the Saudi nationality from Munif, because of his opposition to the regime, which was considered "hostile" to him.
