2nd of Ramadan 996 AH/ July 26th, 1588 AD: Bologna army reinforced by Turkish commandos defeats the German army in the battle of Corfu and captivates the German Archduke Sigmund. The reason behind the battle was the German desire to take over the Bologna throne that had been subordinate to Ottomans till 1592.
