1st of Ramadan 1286 AH/ December 25th, 1869 AD: Shakib Arslan (1869–1946) was born. He was a Druze prince (amir) from Lebanon who was known as Amir Al-Bayan (Arabic for "Prince of Eloquence"). He was the first to call to Arab unity and to the establishment of the Arab League. He was a pioneer reformist and national liberty struggler against imperialism, a cause on which he wrote many articles, treatises and discourses. He is the author of Al-Hulal Al-Sundusiyyah and Tarikh Ghazawat Al-Arab.
