2nd of Ramadan 702 AH/ April 20th, 1303 AD: the Battle of Marj Al-Suffar took place between the Mamluks led by Al-Nassir Qalawun and the Mongols led by Qutlugh-Shah near Kiswe, Syria, just south of Damascus. the battle ended up wisupth a disastrous defeat for the Mongols On being informed of the defeat, Ghazan Khan became wild with rage resulting in his death.
